Community & sport
Some of the most meaningful parts of my life happen alongside other people — through volunteering, sport and the communities we create.
Compassion
in action.
I volunteer with the Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation, supporting children and families receiving care in Australia.
The Foundation helps children and families whose needs have not been met elsewhere, including children who come to Australia for medical treatment. Being part of that community is an important part of my life.
It is also part of the perspective I bring to speaking — the value of human connection, listening and being there for one another.
A place to play.
A place to belong.
Discovering wheelchair football changed my relationship with sport. It gave me a team, a community and new ways to explore what I could do.
My journey has included playing with Richmond and now coaching in Essendon Football Club’s wheelchair football program, where I am the Community Head Coach.
I don’t use a wheelchair in everyday life. A sports wheelchair is part of how I play wheelchair football — and one of the ways this sport has opened doors for me.
