A life lived
in my own way.
I’m Yasmina. My life brings together stories, sport, creativity and care — and an ongoing journey of learning to be myself.

There is more
than one chapter.
Born in France. Raised in Scotland.
Now at home in Australia.
Living with myoclonus dystonia has been part of my life since childhood. For a long time, I wished I could change the way my body moved. Learning to accept myself has changed the way I move through the world.
That journey is at the heart of Living with a Jerk: my writing about life, identity and becoming brave enough to be myself. It is also part of the story I share through speaking and film.
But there is more to my life than my condition. I volunteer with the Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation, coach wheelchair football and value the everyday connections that make us feel we belong.
This is a place for all those parts of me — the experiences I write about, the conversations I hope to start, and the people and communities I learn from.
“When I began to own my uniqueness it propelled me forward instead of holding me back.”
